1. Introduction
The Silk Road Scholarship Program of Chinese Government Scholarship(CSC)in UIBE goes with the Belt and Road Initiative and aims to develop talents with broad international horizon, comprehensive quality and cross-cultural background. The program is officially implemented by the China Scholarship Council. The majors offered for this program are International Business and Cross-border E-commerce, Public Administration (Custom Management), WTO Laws and Economics (English-taught 2 years master program). For curriculum, please refer to SIE website (http://sie.uibe.edu.cn), "Programs">>"Master's Degree Programs".
The full scholarship includes tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and insurance.
2. Eligibility
1. The applicants should be non-Chinese citizens, under the age of 35 years old, with good physical and psychological health.
2. Bachelor degree or above, with related education or working background will be preferred.
3. Good English proficiency to take courses taught in English.
4. With high potential in related professional development and willing to promote communication and cooperation between China and other countries.
3. Application Procedures
1. Applicants shall make online application on the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (studyinchina.csc.edu.cn). Please choose program category ‘Type B’ and fill in the Agency No.: 10036.
2. Applicants are required to send CSC Application Form (which can be generated after submission) to uibescholarship@163.com, with ‘UIBE + Silk Road’ as the email subject. This material is necessary to submit, application without CSC application form is invalid.
3. Please upload all required application materials in clear chromoscan PDF files. Documents which are unclear or substandard will NOT be reviewed. Hard copies are not accepted.
4. Applicants shall finish CSC application before May 25. Late submission of application is considered invalid.
4. Application Documents
An applicant should submit the scanned copies of the following documents in Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (studyinchina.csc.edu.cn):
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English).
2. Photocopy of the first page of valid passport (Should be the ordinary passport with the date of expiry after Sept. 30th, 2026).
3. Copies of notarized Bachelor degree certificates and other highest degree certificates (if any) in Chinese or English.
4. Copies of notarized Bachelor academic transcripts and other academic transcripts (if any) in Chinese or English.
5. Study Proposal (The proposal should include but not limited to professional background, research orientation, academic planning, etc. Written in English, at least 1000 words).
6. Two recommendation letters issued by referees with academic title of professor or associate professor. Telephone numbers and email addresses of the referees and issuance date must be included in the letters.
7. Photocopy of TOEFL Certificate (86 above) or IELTS (6.0 above) or other official English proficiency proof. If applicant’s previous degree was taught in English, an official certification of medium of instruction issue by applicant’s previous degree university shall be provided as English proficiency certificate.
8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form, the examination result shall be valid for 6 months (Written in English, can be downloaded from the attachment below). The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please pay attention, applicants need to properly keep the original documents for the following check when they are getting admitted and coming to China. If the documents are found to be forged, the applicant will be considered disqualified.
9. Certificate of Non-Criminal Record, usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application.
Note:
Scanned documents are sufficient for online application. Original copies are required for off-line registration if applicant gets admission. All documents should be originals or notarized copies made in Chinese or English.
5. Warm Notice
1. Each applicant may be granted with the CSC scholarship for only one program.
2. The school will conduct academic review on each qualified application and some academies may arrange online interview with the applicants. Please pay attention to the email notice. Not receiving interview notice does not means you have been eliminated.
3. The Chinese Scholarship Council will conduct final review and decide the scholarship winner list. Scholarship winners will receive Admission Letter and Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW201) from UIBE after CSC final review. Please pay attention to the admission emails.
4. All the important notification will be informed through email. Therefore, applicants must provide valid email address and phone number. If applicant misses any important notice or information due to personal reason, he/she will be responsible for the consequence.
