Overview of the program

The China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) is entrusted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It is implemented and managed by the China Foreign Language Publishing Administration. CATTI is a nation-wide vocational examination, which has been incorporated into the national vocational certificate system. It is dedicated to professional qualification (level) certification for translation among the whole society. It is an authoritative acknowledgement to participants, especially on their translation ability and bilingual interpretation.

Foreigners who have obtained CATTI certificates through the examination are offered opportunity to work and stay in China for their future, realizing the dream of winning in China.

Courses and Features

This training program is based on the core textbooks of the Evaluation Center of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, with advantage of the expert-level translation of the Education and Culture Center of the China Foreign Languages Bureau, supported by the faculty of English and Chinese (as foreign language) from UIBE to help foreigners passing professional examinations.

-The combination of offline teaching and online teaching.

-Specialized foreign teacher skills training and practical courses that help students adapt to jobs as translators and foreign teachers in China.

-Priority when participating in various public welfare activities and exchange activities organized by the China Foreign Language Publishing Administration and other organizations and international organizations. Scholarship will be offered to participants who present outstanding performance.

An in-total 100 class hours period of study for each semester. Online-offline combined. Content of course includes intensive Chinese level, comprehensive fundamental interpretation, Intensive training for CATTI exam, vocational skills and practices.

The teaching progress, content and methods may be adjusted appropriately according to the epidemic prevention and control requirements, as well as holidays and the level of students.

Size of class

15~30 students each. (The numbers may vary in different courses)

The course operates on a six-months basis

Spring Entry: March to August each year.

Falls entry: September to February next year.

Deadlines of registration

Spring Entry: As of 31st January (until the quota is reached)

Falls entry: As of 31st August (until full amount)

(For registration after the registration deadline, the school will arrange transfers according to the circumstances. When number of registrations rises, a new class could be opened without affecting the annual course arrangement)

Conditions for admission

Graduated from high school, physically healthy, with no negative records.

International students in China, foreigners working in China, and foreigners who intend to study and work in China.

Applicants with Chinese language skills and who have passed HSK level 3 or equivalent are preferred.


Application materials


1. "Entry Application Form" of UIBE. (to be completed online)

2. No criminal proof. (new students from overseas must provide)

3. Copy of the final academic certificate and transcript.

4. Copy of the identity card of the guarantor in China.

5. Asset certificate. (if required, for example: bank deposit certificate, the amount is not less than 20,000 yuan)

6. Copy of applicant's passport or ID card.

7. A recent frontal photo for passport, white background.

8. Proof of performance from previous work place (or institution)

9. Other documents needed for certain nationalities. (confirmed by the teacher responsible for admissions as appropriate)
