 Introduction to UIBE

The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), situated near the Olympic Business Center of Beijing, was founded in 1951. UIBE is a national key university under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce, and is one of the first batch of universities to be included in "project 211", also participated in the "Double-First Class"initiative.

UIBE pursues to be an outstanding national university and a prestigious international university with its distinct characteristics.UIBE has already become a multi-disciplinary university specialized in the fields of economics, management, liberal arts, law and science, and competitive in the subjects such as international trade, international law, finance, business management and foreign languages. UIBE is the first university in possession of both Chinese and English instructional systems at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At present, the university offers nearly 84 majors to overseas students of bachelor, master and doctoral study. Among them, 29 majors are offered entirely in English. UIBE is at present the only economic university in China which has been granted with four accreditations as EQUIS, AASCB, CAMEA and AMBA. In terms of AACSB, we are the first entitled university among the "project 211" institutes. Being the only university with "Career Advisory Center"for International students, UIBE has established cooperative relationships with over 100 famous enterprises. In 2018, we ranked the 1st on the ratio ofcurrently studying International students to Chinese students among all China universities, the 2nd place in employment rate, 1stplace in the terms of payment increase for graduates, and 1st place on the rate of Chinese graduates studying abroad. In the 2018 ranking of "Chinas Best Universities" held by ShanghaiRanking, UIBE ranked the first place among economic universities.

UIBE has a total enrollment of around 16,000 full-time students including more than 3,400 international students from 160countries. As always, UIBE students are widely welcomed by society for their sound professional knowledge and skills, strong linguistic ability, active thinking and rich practical experience. UIBE graduates have been mainly employed in government departments, multinational corporations, financial sectors, large-scale foreign trade corporations and commercial institutions stationed abroad. They are playing an important role in promoting global economy and social development.

Ⅱ Introduction to MIEC Program

1. Program Name: Master of International Economic Cooperation (referred to as MIEC)

2. Admission Areas: Developing Countries formally set up diplomatic relationship with China

3. Training Objective:

This program is designed for senior business officials, business diplomats and senior business managers who are experienced in business administration from developing countries. It aims to develop leaders and constructors of global economic governance structure, framers and executors of international business policies with global vision, and managers of international business and trade administration. Through this program, students can systematically grasp international economic cooperation theory, international economic policies and environment, development tendency of international economic cooperation and economic trade policy system in China.

4. Training mode:

1) Class Teaching: Considering the particularity of the composition of participants, MIEC program adopts lectures, case studies, speeches, tutoring and other forms of flexible and diverse teaching methods;

2) Business Research: To enhance participants' understanding of the Chinese business environment, MIEC program provides regular arrangements for trainees to visit Development Zone, enterprises, rural suburbs of Beijing and government departments.

3) Seminar: This program will regularly invite Chinese government officials, business executives and scholars to hold lectures on hot issues at home and abroad and discuss matters in depth with students.

4) Cultural Experience: In addition to a monthly trip to rural suburbs of Beijing, MIEC program also plans arrangements and study tours for participants to experience Chinese culture.

5. Course arrangement and credits requirement

1) Our course arrangement emphasizes combination of academic theories and practice in an effort to promote students ability to solve problems.

2) This full-time master program course arrangement includes compulsory classes, elective classes, seminars and business research, requiring 34 credits in total.

6. Degree Granted:

Program participants, who acquire all credits, finish master degree thesis and pass the paper defense will be granted a degree by UIBE.

1. Academic structure: One year. The following is the detailed schedule:

Fall semester: early September - the end of December (14 weeks)

Spring Semester: late February - the end of May (14 weeks)

Ⅴ Admission requirements, Application period and procedures, Application materials, Admission Notification and Contact Information

1. Admission Requirements:

Applicants participated in this program are required as below,

  • Generally under the age of 45 years old (by Sep. 1, current year), healthy.

  • With a bachelor's degree (or above) and more than three years work experiences. The one with related learning or working background is preferred.

  • Should be the middle and senior management staff who engaged in the government departments, enterprises, and colleges or research institutions.

  • Non-native English speaking Applicants must have English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL (IBT) 86 and above level.

2. Application PeriodJanuary 1 – April 15

3. Application Procedures:

  • Applicants shall make online application at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn(Choose Program Category Type B and the Agency No. of UIBE: 10036) download and print out the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship and then sign the form. Hand-writing version is invalid.

  • Applicants are required to make another online application at www.uibe.cn. Please download and print out the International Student Application Form generated upon successful online application.

  • Please use Firefox or Chrome Explorer.

  • Please Submit the application documents (legible scanned ones) listed below to the application receiving agency.

4. Application Materials

  • An applicant should submit the scanned copies of the following documents:

  • Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship with a 2-inch photo and the applicant’s signature.

  • Personal statement of research (A minimum of 500 words in English).

  • CV in English

  • Copies of bachelor’s degree certificate(s) and academic transcript(s).

  • Two recommendation letters from the applicant’s employers and/or professors.

  • Telephone numbers and email addresses of the referees must be included in the letters.

  • Employment verification.

  • A copy of TOEFL 90 above or IELTS 6.0 above or official letter of English proficiency, or passing the telephone test by UIBE faculty

  • Copy of the passport page of personal information.

  • Note: Scanned copies of the documents will be sufficient during the application period. Originals or verified copies will be required upon enrollment at the universities. All documents should be in Chinese or English and be originals or notarized copies. All documents are not retrievable.

5. Admission Notification

  • Application documents will be reviewed by Admission Committee, and outstanding applicants will be selected.

  • Each applicant can be supported by the scholarship for one program only.

  • The universities or the Chinese Embassy will send the Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the scholarship winners.

  • If a successful applicant fails to register for the programs before the deadline, the entitlement to the scholarship will be cancelled.
