Ⅰ Program Introduction
The Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship aims to develop leaders with broad international horizon, outstanding comprehensive quality, excellent leadership and cross-cultural background in global governance. The program is officially implemented by the China Scholarship Council.
The Master of International Economic Cooperation (hereafter MIEC) program is specifically designed for senior officials and business management professionals with experience in international business management. It aims to cultivate leaders and contributors in the field of global economic governance, international business policymakers and practitioners with a global strategic vision, as well as trailblazers in international business and trade management. Through this program, participants will systematically master theories of international economic cooperation, gain an in-depth understanding of the international economic policy environment and development trends, and deepen their knowledge of China’s trade and economic policy framework.
Ⅱ Introduction to MIEC Program
1. Program Name: Master of International Economic Cooperation (referred to as MIEC)
2. Admission Areas: Developing Countries formally set up diplomatic relationship with China
3. Scholarship Funding: One academic year with full scholarship
4. Training Mode
1) Course Instruction: Considering the particularity of the composition of participants, MIEC program adopts lectures, case studies, speeches, tutoring and other forms of flexible and diverse teaching methods;
2) Business Research: To enhance participants' understanding of the Chinese business environment, Trainees will be provided with field visit opportunities to economic development zones, enterprises, or government departments in China;
3) Academic Lectures: MIEC program will invite government officials, corporate executives, and experts in academia to give special lectures, covering topics such as instruction on thesis writing in economics and discussions on heated economic issues;
4) Cultural Experience: In addition to the trips to rural suburbs of Beijing, MIEC program will arrange study tours for participants to learn more about Chinese culture.
5. Course Arrangement and Credits
1) The curriculum emphasizes the combination of theories and applications to enhance participants’ proficiency in economic theory and their ability to solve practical problems.
2) This full-time master program course arrangement includes compulsory courses (19 credits), elective courses (3 credits), business research (4 credits) and academic lectures (4 credits), requiring 30 credits in total.
6. Degree Granted
Program participants, who acquire all credits, finish master degree thesis and pass the paper defense will be granted a degree by UIBE.
Ⅲ Academic Structure and Teaching Language
1. Academic Structure: One year. The following is the detailed schedule:
Fall Semester: early September - the end of December (14 weeks)
Spring Semester: late February - the end of May (14 weeks)

Ⅴ Admission Requirements and Procedures
1. Eligibility
l Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens, under the age of 45 years old, with good physical and psychological health.
l Bachelor degree or above, more than 3 years working experience. Those with related education or working background will be preferred.
l Should be the middle and senior management staff who engaged in the government departments, institutions, enterprises, and colleges or research institutions; work at the international organizations or have relevant work experience.
l English good enough to take courses taught in English. Non-native English speaking Applicants must have English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL (IBT) 86 and above level.
l Be potential in related professional development and willing to promote communication and cooperation between China and other countries.
2. Application Procedures
l Applicants need to send all the documents required via email to uibescholarship@163.com with the subject of "YES CHINA + MIEC + Pre-admission" before March 15th. The pre-admission letter will be issued once the applicants pass the review.
l After receiving the pre-admission letter, applicants shall make another online application on the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) before March 25th, the application documents should be the same one as those used for UIBE. Please choose Program Category ‘Type A’ and fill in the Agency No.: 1563, select ‘Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship’. Hand-writing version is invalid.
l Please submit the application documents (legible scanned ones) listed below to the application receiving agency. Please upload the clear chromoscan PDF files, documents which are unclear or substandard will NOT be reviewed. Hard copies are not accepted.
3. Application Documents
An applicant should submit the scanned copies of the following documents:
l Photocopy of the first page on the passport (Should be the ordinary passport with the validity date after Sept. 30th, 2025). If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2025), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.
l Personal statement of research (Should include relevant work experience and study plan, with a minimum of 1000 words in English).
l CV in English.
l Copies of notarized highest degree certificate(s) (Written in Chinese or English).
l Copies of notarized academic transcript(s) (Written in Chinese or English).
l Two recommendation letters from the applicant’s employers and/or professors. Telephone numbers and email addresses of the referees must be included in the letters.
l Employment verification.
l Photocopy of TOEFL 86 above or IELTS 6.0 above or official letter of English proficiency, or passing the telephone test by UIBE faculty.
l Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Written in English, can be downloaded from the attachments). The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
l Certificate of No Criminal Conviction. If the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction is not available for individuals to apply for in some countries or regions, please use the “No Criminal Record Commitment” which can be downloaded from the attachments. Otherwise please provide the official Certificate of No Criminal Conviction.
Note: Scanned copies of the documents will be sufficient during the application period. Originals or verified copies will be required upon enrollment at the universities. All documents should be in Chinese or English and be originals or notarized copies. All documents are not retrievable.
4. Admission Notification
l Application documents will be reviewed by Admission Committee, and outstanding pre-admission list will be submitted.
l The Chinese Scholarship Council will review the documents and invite experts and professors to check and decide the final admission lists.
l Each applicant can be supported by the scholarship for one program only.
l Admission outcomes are publicized in June and those who have been awarded with scholarship can obtain study visa from July to August.
l If a successful applicant fails to register for the programs before the deadline, the entitlement to the scholarship will be canceled.
5. Warm Notice
l Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
