The School of Government at University of International Business and Economics was founded in 1974, with its origins in the Department of Customs Administration. It was the only university in China at the time authorized to award bachelor’s degrees in customs management education. Over more than four decades, the School has developed a complete disciplinary framework and an integrated education system spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, dedicated to training high-level public administration professionals.
At the undergraduate level, the School offers three bachelor’s degree programs. At the graduate level, it is authorized to confer master’s degrees in Public Administration as a first-level discipline, as well as the professional Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. At the doctoral level, it offers a doctoral program in Public Policy and Management. The School also enrolls international students in undergraduate programs in Administrative Management and in master’s programs in Customs Management and International Public Administration.
Grounded in economics, management, law, and sociology, the School emphasizes interdisciplinary development. It comprises four academic divisions—Customs Administration, Administrative Management, Public Economics, and Public Affairs Management—and hosts several research centers, including the Customs Research Center, the Industry Association Research Center, and the Cultural and Leisure Industry Research Center.
