The School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at University of International Business and Economics was established in October 2025 on the basis of the former School of Information Science. Oriented toward national strategies for innovation-driven development, the School integrates artificial intelligence and data science with the University’s strengths in economics, management, law, and humanities, and is committed to building a distinctive, high-level engineering school with UIBE characteristics.
The School comprises four academic divisions: Data Science and Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Management, and E-Commerce. It has 36 full-time faculty members, including 9 professors and 13 associate professors, all with overseas study or academic exchange experience. Many faculty members serve as experts for national ministries and commissions, and senior industry specialists are invited as part-time instructors.
The School offers a complete talent cultivation system spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. It hosts a doctoral program in Intelligent Decision-Making (interdisciplinary), master’s programs in Intelligent Science and Technology and Management Science and Engineering, and undergraduate programs in Data Science and Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Science and Technology, and Information Management and Information Systems. An international joint undergraduate program in Data Science and Big Data Technology is offered in collaboration with George Mason University.
Focusing on interdisciplinary integration, practical innovation, and international engagement, the School emphasizes application-oriented education and research. It has achieved significant outcomes in areas such as artificial intelligence applications, intelligent decision-making, big data analytics, computational social science, and digital governance, supported by advanced AI laboratory facilities.
The School actively promotes industry–university–research collaboration and has established partnerships with leading enterprises in the AI and digital economy sectors. Graduates are highly competitive, with strong technical foundations, foreign language proficiency, and interdisciplinary skills. Alumni pursue careers in government agencies, financial and internet industries, major domestic and multinational enterprises, or continue their studies at top universities in China and abroad.
