I. In the following cases, students shall suspend study.

1. Due to illness, special difficulties or special needs, the student can’t continue study or can’t meet the requirements of the university.

2. Due to self-employed business, the student cannot attend school regularly.

3. According to clinic diagnosis or related regulations, the student whose continuing study will affect himself/herself or others negatively.

4. The university decides it is necessary for the student to suspend study.

 

II. Students shall apply for suspension of study in person. After the applications are approved by their schools and the School of International Education, they can suspend their study. When students do not apply for suspension of study but the university believes it is necessary, the university has the right to suspend the students’ study.

 

III. In general, the duration of suspension is 1 year. When suspension of study due to illness requires time more than 1 year, students can apply to extend the duration. In total, the duration of suspension cannot exceed 2 years.

 

IV. The duration of suspension of study due to military service cannot exceed 3 years.

 

V. Students who register for other university or breach laws or school regulations during suspension will be disqualified from applying for re-entry.

 

VI. Students who intend to resume their studies after suspension shall submit the re-entry application and supporting document three months before the re-entry. After the application is approved, students will be placed into new grades to continue their studies.

 

VII. In the following cases, students will be dismissed from university and lose academic status.

1. If a student fails 4 courses or 3 compulsory classes in one semester, or fail 4 compulsory courses in total, the school will issue him/her an academic warning. Two academic warnings will incur a dismissal warning. When academic warning amounts to 3 times, students will be dismissed from university.

2. Without approval, bachelor students whose studying period (including gap years) exceeds the stipulated length of study for 3 years.

3. As confirmed by the appointed hospital, the student can’t continue to study due to illness or unexpected injuries.

4. Students do not go through re-entry formalities within 2 weeks without valid reasons.

5. The student applies for withdrawal from university in person.

 

VIII. Students who are dismissed from university can’t apply for re-entry.
