Being of Chinese descent, Chinese is very important to me. I remember when I was first introduced to Chinese, I was not curious or enthusiastic about the language. But as time went by and my understanding of the Chinese culture that it carries deepened, I became interested in it. In the process of learning Chinese, I felt the charm of Chinese traditional culture and fell in love with the lovely and respectable China.
Tuan Huat School in Cambodia is my alma mater with a long history and the place where I started to learn Chinese. In the "home" of Tuan Hua, besides learning knowledge and mastering skills, I also made friends and participated in activities, and I have very good memories.
Now, I have a warm "home" - UIBE. I am fortunate to have applied for a Chinese government scholarship, which gives me the opportunity to complete my studies at this university. I had prepared a "study plan in China" in advance in order to study well after I entered the university. However, due to the Newcastle Pneumonia epidemic, I was only able to study online.
The online classes were a challenge, and I was only able to communicate with my teachers through the computer, but the distance did not diminish the bond between the students and teachers. Before the start of the class, I prepared well to avoid the learning environment being affected, technically ensuring sufficient cell phone traffic and psychologically building up a good mindset. However, I still encountered difficulties, limited by the speed of the Internet, and needed to pass several hurdles in each class.
Despite the challenges of the online classes, I met new friends and teachers with extensive teaching experience through the online classes. My classmates have been able to learn from each other and grow side by side in the classroom. Outside of the online classroom, we also connected often and formed friendships. To sum up the gains of online learning, I found that I have learned a lot of new knowledge and improved my Chinese language skills to be able to express what is in my mind in relatively fluent spoken Chinese.
Over the past 7 months, the teachers of each subject have been like hardworking gardeners, solving students' problems and teaching them how to deal with the world. Despite the distance, I felt the warmth from China.
I am lucky to be able to study in China. The magnificent mountains and rivers, the warm and kind Chinese people, and the warm and knowledgeable Chinese teachers ...... I look forward to stepping on Chinese soil soon and experiencing all these things myself; I look forward to walking on the campus of the University of International Business and Economics and seeing the "real" classrooms and students from all over the world; I also look forward to learning something. I look forward to seeing the "real" classrooms and students from all over the world on the campus of the University of International Business and Economics; I also look forward to learning and contributing to the friendship between China and Cambodia.
