On March 7th, the delegation fromThailand, led by Dr. Sornchai Mungthaisong, President of Rai Royal University (RRU), and Professor Manat Suwan, Vice Chairman of the Directorate of RRU, visited the University of International Business and Economics (“UIBE”). The Rector Zhao Zhongxiu, Head of the Department of International Relations, Li Xiaomeng, Dean of the School of International Education, Liu Jinlan, Party Secretary of the School of International Education, Geng Huifang and other accompanying personnel warmly received them in the International Plaza.
Rector Zhao Zhongxiu, on behalf of UIBE, warmly welcomed the delegation, pointing out that UIBE has been included the first batch of "Double First Class" and "211 Project" universities in China, with unique advantages in fields such as economics, management, finance, and law. UIBE has always placed great importance on international cooperation and has established close relations with more than ten Thai universities. Thailand has become one of the important source countries for international students at UIBE. It is believed that the visit of Rai Royal University will promote people-to people and cultural exchanges and cooperation within the framework of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
Dr.Sornchai Mungthaisong, President of Rai Royal University, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Zhao Zhongxiu, pointing out that Rai Royal University and UIBE share similar disciplines and majors. He hoped that through this meeting, cooperation can be established between the two sides in student education, professors’ cooperation and joint research. The Rai Royal University is willing to contribute to promoting international exchange and cooperation between the two countries and the two universities together with the UIBE.
During the communication session, delegation members from both sides had specific discussions on topics such as short-term research, overseas internships, joint scientific research, and student exchange, and exchanged preliminary cooperation ideas.
Founded in 1969, Rai Royal University is a key public university directly under the Ministry of Education of Thailand and it is known for its high-level, comprehensive, and research-oriented features. This meeting will effectively expand UIBE’s international cooperation space in Thailand and contribute to the “Belt and Road Initiative” through the joint efforts of UIBE.
