The School of International Trade and Economics has a strong research force and has achieved important results in both original scientific innovation and applied research. Faculty members have consistently published outstanding papers in top academic journals at home and abroad, demonstrating strong academic originality. From 2015 to 2021, faculty members of the School published nearly 180 papers in high-level academic journals in economics, finance and management. Among them, a total of 24 papers have been published in international authoritative journals:International Economic Review, Journal of International Economics, RAND Journal of Economics, Journal of Econometrics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Management Science, Transportation Research Part B: Methodological; 5 in Chinese Social Sciences, 17 in Economic Studies, and 40 in Management World, Financial Studies and World Economy combined.
The School of International Trade and Economics hosts high-level academic seminars, which have a large impact on academic and policy research. The School is the secretariat unit of the National Collaborative Group of International Trade Disciplines and the China Chapter of the Annual Meeting of the International Economics and Finance Society, and has become an important platform for academic exchanges between China and abroad by founding and holding the Annual Meeting of the National University International Trade Discipline Assistance Group and the China International Trade Discipline Development Forum, the Beijing Humboldt Forum, the Beijing Forum on Trade and Investment, and the Annual Meeting of the International Economics and Finance Society.
